Earlier this month we learned about Samsung’s plan to release at least four new Android tablets and refresh many of its existing ones this year. SamMobile now reports that the company has started to refresh many of its current-generation tablets with 64-bit processors.

A new variant of the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 has surfaced on GFXBench with model number SM-T333. The listing reveals a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, though the rest of the specifications remain the same — 8-inch WXGA (1280×800 pixels) display, 1.5GB of RAM, 3-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal storage, microSD card support, and connectivity options include 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

The publication spotted another tablet with SM-T533 model number at the Bluetooth SIG certification website. The tablet features a 10.1-inch display and comes with a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor. It is likely an upgrade to the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1.

The company’s move to refresh models with the 64-bit processor will enable the device to utilize the Android 5.0 Lollipop software, which supports and works best with 64-bit CPU architecture. The Snapdragon 410 processor, which also supports LTE, is the same chipset which the company used in the recently launched Galaxy A and Galaxy E smartphone lineups.
